I have been dancing for twenty years after starting ballet at the age of two. Over the years I learnt many styles including tap, jazz and musical theatre. After leaving school I attended Furness College where I gained a triple distinction for BTEC national diploma in Performing arts. This gained me an achievement scholarship to Middlesex University where I studied my degree BA (Hons) Dance Performance, graduating with an upper second. Whilst at University I majored in contemporary dance, supplemented with jazz and ballet. I also discovered a passion for dance science and anatomy and spent my post-graduate year at the London School of Sports Massage gaining a BTEC level 5 Professional Diploma in Clinical Sport and Remedial Massage Therapy. I will be opening my own sports and remedial therapy business in October 2011.
My favourite dance styles are jazz (lyrical and Fosse) and contemporary (Humphrey and Graham). I love dancing as it is a beautifully expressive and creative output and I believe it can provide a positive and wonderful influence on people’s lives. I am very excited to be joining the dance connect team and look forward to working with Louise and all the students. I hope to be a positive addition to the school and help the students to develop their dance technique and knowledge.
